San Francisco’s Favorite Sustainable Marketplace Returns on August 17th in a New Location

San Francisco, CA, July 2014 —- The Bay Area’s favorite sustainable shopping event, Urban Air Market, is preparing for a summer pop-up show in San Francisco’s historic Dogpatch neighborhood.

This FREE event will take place this year in a new location, Esprit Park (Minnesota and 19th), on Sunday, August 17th from 11-6pm and will feature 100+ emerging designers and established brands, in addition to talented artists and musicians from our local creative community. Urban Air Market is also proud to be partnering with SCRAP, a non-profit promoting the creative reuse of materials that would otherwise be discarded as waste, to host fun activities for kids throughout the day.

Now in their tenth year, Urban Air Market continues to provide the Bay Area with a unique shopping experience that allows consumers to meet the designers and artisans of their favorite products, while making sustainable, eco-friendly and locally produced goods accessible to the public.

Just in time for the “back-to-school” season, guests of the Urban Air Market Dogpatch show can find the latest in locally made women’s, men’s, and children’s apparel, one-of-a-kind accessories, home décor and art that directly support their local economy. Urban Air Market Launches in Portland


Urban Air Market, the largest outdoor sustainable shopping event, brings makers, music and art to Portland’s Zidell Yard on August 2nd – 3rd

 PORTLAND, OR June 2014—- Urban Air Market, the favorite outdoor sustainable market from San Francisco is launching Urban Air Market – Portland: a two-day event that will take place from 11am -6pm both Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd. Bringing together the creative communities of Portland and San Francisco, this free event is a pop-up marketplace for sustainable design featuring 100+ emerging and established artisans and brands, along with live music, art installations, food vendors and a beer garden.

Urban Air Market designers are selected based on their quality, originality, cleverness and method of sustainability in design. The event provides:

  • Consumers the ability to discover emerging designers, musicians, and artists
  • Artists and designers the ability to access new audiences for their work
  • Personal interaction between consumers and makers
  • An eco-conscious shopping experience
  • A platform for inspiration where designers can share ideas and collaborate

This two day pop-up event will be held at Zidell Yards, a former industrial shipyard located in the South Waterfront neighborhood set beside the Willamette River and Ross Island Bridge. Plans are underway to transform the 33-acre site into Portland’s next great neighborhood, and a host to public parks, plazas, and river access. Urban Air Market is proud to be the first outdoor shopping event to activate the space.

Driving North on I-5 Take exit 299B and then turn right on SW River Pkwy. Then turn Right on SW Moody. Look for sign for 3030 SW Moody Ave on your left, pull into driveway and then stay to left on gravel road to Urban Air Market

Driving South on I-5 Take Morrison Bridge exit and then Naito Parkway south. Turn left on Market into Harborside area. Head toward I-5, but take Sheridan Rd exit before getting on I-5. Then turn left on Sheridan, right on SW Moody. Urban Air Market will be on your left toward river.
